Still flying high from the success of our combined training event, myself and Darielle took the horses for a schooling session in Coilóg the other week. Anyone who’s been following the blog since the beginning will know that the last time I brought Coco to Coilóg it resulted in me having my first fall off Coco...
Find out how me and Coco got on when we tackled our first ever combined training event!
There were a lot of ups & downs during our preparations for our One Day Event, the week prior consisted of a lot if headless humans running around the yard, setting out Dressage arenas, setting up jumps, to lessons with Jer to prepare!
Spooking. Napping. Bucking. Refusing. You name it, Coco did it! Our first trip to Coilóg definitely didn't go as planned...
Both Orla & I have run into problems jumping both Dante & Coco in the past. We're definitely making progress but we never stop learning when it comes to these two horses. And we can definitely say without a doubt that our confidence has been tested on a number of occasions when it came to putting these horses over a jump!
Over the last few months I've done a lot of work with Coco, specifically on her jumping. We're now at a place where we can really move forward so I wanted to take a look back on what we did to get here!
This was both Coco and Dante's first time to this arena and their first time out doing some proper showjumping schooling so we were both really looking forward to this experience.
